For my final in technology we did a photo-shop unit. I don't know that much about photo-shop but I know some of the basics because we previously had a small unit on this. In the unit I learned many new things like how to fill something in, how to use different layers, and so much more. In this unit I encountered many problems like when I was going to fill something in for a photo the filled in spot would turn out very blurry and it wouldn't look realistic. To solve this problem I outlined the part I didn't want in sections and that helped with making the picture not as blurry. Outlining the parts in sections also helped photo-shop not confuse what was behind it like if I photo-shopped the whole thing it would just add something in they thought was behind the image but wasn't. I am positive that I will use my photo-shop skills in the future. For example, I can use these skills for a school project, editing photos, or editing something to post on Instagram. I definitely feel I learned a lot through this unit and will be using these skills in the future to complete a variety of projects. In the pictures of above are what I've created for this unit. Two of them are the image in text. I learned how to do that this week and I can honestly say that it was the most fun and easiest. The first one I created was the nature one and I used the image behind it because I thought that it fit well with the words since there was so many plants. I also created another one and the word was red velvet. This is a k-pop band that I have been listening too. The image I used is of them singing and I though that that fit very well with the band name.
Another extension I did was the brick wall portrait effect. For this image I used my cat as the main subject. I decided to do this because it was easier for me to use the quick selection tool and make it a new layer. The final one I did was the word collage image. The original picture is one that I took, and the whole image is basically about swimming. In the pool I added words that related to swimming and I added inspirational quotes that related to swimming.

Since I'll be going to high school next year, I am checking the local community local high school. I found a interesting story about Iocal high school swim team competing in the Tri County Conference League Championship. The boys team has broke a record for the 400 yard freestyle relay. The TCC time was 3:32.27 but the boys had broke it with a time of 3:31.76. Kiet Nguyen, the unanimous choice for league MVP voted by all the coaches. Kiet has placed first in the 200 yard IM with a time of 2:05.13 and has participated in the 100 yard butterfly with a time of 56.31 making him the only swimmer to win both of his individual events. Overall the guys team won 4 out of 8 individual events.
Happy New Year Everyone! 2016 was a great year for me but it was also a very rough year. 2016 was probably one of the most important years of my life. I made a lot of great friends and tried a lot of new things but for this upcoming year I would like to stay more postive. This is the last year I'll be with all of my friends so I want to make the most of it. I want to stay postive and not be so negative about most things.
The gas station incident caused twelve time Olympic medalist Ryan Lochte to be suspended from the World Championships. The incident had became an embarrassment during the Rio Olympics. The Rio Olympics authorities detected that the athlete had broken into a restroom and trashed the whole thing, but Lochte wasn't alone on this he was with Jimmy Feigen, Gunnar Bentz, and Jack Conger The athlete was pulled out of the vehicle he was in and was forced to pay a $50 for the damage. Before that Lochte's mother had filed in a false report saying that her son was robbed. He later on admitted that he did exaggerate some details. Surveillance camera's then show that he did not break into a locked bathroom, there was not one single evidence that the swimmers vandalized the bathroom. Picture Credit: Kat Nguyen on Flickr
Michael Phelps currently holds the world record for the most all time medals which is 28, 23 of them are gold. He also holds the world record for the 100 meter butterfly, 200 meter butterfly, and 400 meter individual medley. At the Rio 2016 Olympics Phelps won 5 gold medals and 1 silver. Phelps stated that this would be his "potential" last Olympics. Phelps said "I'm 30 years old and swimming almost faster than I ever before." Phelps is now happy that he can spend more time with his 4 month old son Boomer. I personally hope that he competes in the next Olympics but that's just my opinion. If this was his last Olympics he ended on a good one with a total of 5 gold medals. Picture Credit: Karen Blaha on Flickr
